A native of LaGrange, Georgia, and a graduate of Emory University, my first work was teaching high school English in Troup and DeKalb Counties. After our four sons were in high school and college, I returned to Emory for a Master of Divinity degree at Candler Theological Seminary. After ordination, I served as a minister and associate minister for twenty-five years in United Methodist Churches of North and South Georgia.

Applied Art came in later years for me. While living in Macon, Georgia, I studied with Maryanne Dunn for two years in Acrylic Painting. My intense study, however, began at the LaGrange Art Museum with Cora Waterhouse in her Introductory Courses in Drawing and later with study in pastels, my current medium of choice.

My work reflects a deep interest in the beauty of the land and of very ordinary objects found in any household. Such things remind me that I am surrounded by ever-changing settings that need to be recorded for future observers.

I am married to George Henry, M.D. We live on my father’s farmland located north LaGrange in Troup County
