Lanora Pierce Yates holds a BFA (1996) and MFA (2005) in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art. Lanora was a recipient of a research and performance grant from the Center for Humanities and Arts and of the Mike Nicholson Scholarship for the Study Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. Her paintings and sculpture have been included in numerous exhibitions across the U.S. as well as in Italy. For 15 years she was employed at the Georgia Museum of Art in the department of exhibitions and design. Lanora also worked at the Georgia Archives in the conservation lab for 1 year after moving to LaGrange, Georgia in 2011. Since moving to LaGrange Lanora has been involved with local artist groups and a consultant/associate teacher in museum studies, fine art conservation, archival matting/mounting techniques for works of art on paper and virtual exhibition design.
