The VAAL website, where all members have an individual artist page. In addition to artist pages, the website features a community visual arts calendar and an artist resource page.
Artist database. Member artists' work will be publicized through the VAAL website and by various other means. Possible methods may include printed catalogs of member works and a program to target interior designers and new LaGrange area businesses and residences.
A monthly free Open Studio event, taking place every second Tuesday at 6:30 pm at the Center for Creative Learning at the LaGrange Art Museum. Each month, a VAAL member hosts the Open Studio, setting up a still life or bringing in a model, and interested members bring their chosen materials to work and socialize.
Members can share opportunities with one another through centralized artist networking.
Exhibition opportunities. The first annual VAAL member exhibition, entitled "Building Bonds", will be hosted by the LaGrange Art Museum in September and October of 2008.
Access to discounted pricing on full color, professional quality business cards. Future projects could include the establishment of physical space for artist studios, galleries, and class rooms.
If you are interested in joining VAAL, please download, print, fill out and return the membership form (link). Membership rates will be prorated to the nearest full month. For example, if you are joining in June, divide the membership rate by 12 and multiply the product by 6. Your membership will cover the six months of July through December and from there on your membership would be renewed each December to cover the upcoming year.
This membership is for visual artists at all levels of experience,
18 years and older, working in all mediums.
Artist members may additionally choose to be patron members.
The following levels of membership are available for artist members:
*$125 per year for general membership
$80 for teacher membership (full time teachers only)
$45 for student membership (full time students only)
$1000 for lifetime artist membership
*Join before February 1st, 2009 to receive Founding Member status and a discounted membership fee
of $100.
